Ronaki International School is a leading school of Ronaki Hawler Education Company. Ronaki Hawler Education Company has been successfully operating private schools in Iraq for over twenty five years. It began its educational activities in Erbil in 1994 with Ishik College and it reached in 23 years to 7 campuses, 1 Kindergarten, 3 Primary Schools, 3 Secondary Schools and 3 High Schools and an international school –RISE. The company offers education to about 4000 students.

Board of Directors of the Ronaki Hawler Education Company decided to invest an internationally accredited School (RISE) in Erbil to sustain the growth of the company to give opportunity to international students to study in Ronaki Hawler Education Company schools, also to give an opportunity to Iraq citizens to be ready for both local and international universities.
Ronaki International School opened its doors to students in September of 2017. The school is located in Future City Compound in a fast-growing area of Erbil.
One of our undergirding beliefs is that diversity is strength and students are taught understanding, tolerance, and respect of all people. Almost from all parts of the society, Kurdish, Arabic, Turkish and other nationalities are studying in our school. Students of several nationalities mingle with their new community and are mainstreamed for basic instruction. Additionally, the Remedial Programs for English and level-based differentiated studies for Kurdish, Arabic language offer instruction for the improvement of those students who have little or no exposure to these languages previously.
There are over 40 teaching staff from several nationalities. They are very experienced in their fields of education. They bring with them a wide range of styles and experiences.
The school is English speaking zone. Teachers work closely together in grade level teams, subject departments, and academic supervisors to plan, deliver, and improve instruction.

The school has collaboratively developed and continues to implement an international curriculum based on clear measurable learning goals. The curriculum for the core subjects is aligned to the American Common Core State Standards and Next Generation Science Standards and benchmarks. Curriculum guides contain learning objectives that are aligned to the standards and teachers use them to plan their daily instruction in the classroom. The curriculum is endorsed with rich and various online resources and materials in technologically equipped classrooms and laboratories.
RISE offers a rigorous, well-balanced course of study. Educational materials used are selected for their viability in the American curriculum and adaptability to the local environment.
The curriculum is also designed to prepare the students for the College Board Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) General Test and SAT Subject Tests with content and skills for the tests well-integrated in the curriculum. Thus, the SAT program is implemented at RISE.
RISE holds the belief that Students learn best through natural, meaningful, integrated experiences that are relevant to their lives. The classroom is student-centered and active. Teachers respect students’ prior knowledge and build upon their competence. The teachers recognize the importance of trial and error, risk taking without fear of failure, and the need for time to grow. The teacher facilitates learning by modeling and engaging students in a wide range of activities.
Students are expected to take an active role in their learning and are encouraged to experiment and think for themselves. Students are encouraged to use a wide range of materials and resources, working individually and in small groups. Individual growth is the goal and teachers accept pupil differences. Laboratory experimentation in Science, hands-on manipulation of math learning resources, application of Language Arts skills in activities such as letter writing, conversational practice, oral presentations, and reading for information and entertainment, are a few of the ways students learn by doing.
Teachers give students the opportunity to explore application of higher order thinking skills through many classroom strategies such as class discussions and debates, problem solving activities, research and project work, student presentations, and encouragement in taking leadership roles.
Teachers have access to instructional technology and it is integrated into their lesson planning and classroom instruction on a regular basis. Students are given instruction and practice in the use of technology in the weekly Computer/Technology course of study.
The school maintains effective programs of study in Mathematics, Science, the Arts – music and art, Physical Education, and Computer/Technology in technology-ready class rooms, well-equipped science labs, music and art rooms, computer labs, libraries, and outdoor sports courts.
